Costa Smeralda

The Emerald Coast is a stretch of coast of the Gallura area, which stretches for about twenty kilometers in the territory of Arzachena. Along this stretch of coast there are numerous beaches and coves where the sea water has an emerald green color. These places, of little use for pasture and crops were abandoned until the beginning of the sixties, when Prince Karim Aga Khan's happened by and fell in love.

The Aga Khan immediately realized the tourist potential of the area and in 1962 he decided to give life to a complex of villas and hotels dedicated to luxury tourism. Thus was born the town of Porto Cervo which is still the heart of the Costa Smeralda. In this town, the villas and the hotel facilities are surrounded by and become part of the lush vegetation. Around the central square of Porto Cervo are the glittering windows of the boutiques of the most important names in fashion.

The Marina of Porto Cervo is one of the most well-equipped and welcoming berths in the Mediterranean. Indeed it offers over 700 berths, of which 100 are dedicated for boats in transit. All berths are equipped with water and electricity connection. In the evening, when the luxury yachts return to harbor, there is a cheerful coming and going of tourists intent on photographing the most beautiful boats and the many celebrities aboard.
